2017 PARIS EKIDEN: AURES ON THE STARTING LINE!

The EKIDEN is a type of long-distance relay running raceoriginating in Japan and commonly held over the marathon distance (42.195 km or 26 miles).

The fifth Paris EKIDEN is jointly organised by the French Athletics Federation (FFA) and the Mairie de Paris and will take place on 5 November.

The FFA aims to have 1,800 teams comprising 10,800 runners competing in this year’s EKIDEN.

18 runners sporting the AURES France colours* have entered the race, which follows a scenic route along the banks of the River Seine. Competitors will run in teams of six, and each team must complete the full marathon distance of 42.195 kilometres in accordance with the official sequence of stages: 5 km, 10 km, 5 km, 10 km, 5 km, 7.195 km.
